1960 VW Beetle
Manufactured from 1938 to 2003, a total of 21,529,464 VW Beetles rolled off the production line, making it the longest running and most manufactured car of a single platform ever made. The Beetle is an extremely simple car, designed with a rudimentary torsion bar independent suspension on one end, and an engine and gearbox with a swing axle independent suspension on the other end. It is relatively easy for a novice or home mechanic.
This particular VW Beetle has been fitted with a 1600 engine from later models, giving it a few extra horsepower over the original spec. The car has also undergone a high standard restoration. Many new parts have been imported from Germany to make it a dream to drive. The car is in perfect running order, both mechanically and aesthetically. It is finished in Pampas Green and matched with a Light Grey vinyl interior.
